Timmy Willison

With 15 years of dedicated experience in software development, I have forged a career marked by impactful contributions and leadership in the tech industry. Beginning at a small web firm in Chattanooga, TN, I cultivated my expertise by delivering high-quality websites, applications, and games for prestigious brands such as Kraft and Mellow Mushroom. My journey into open-source began with jQuery, a JavaScript library used by 80-90% of websites worldwide. I became a core committer in 2011 and later assumed the role of jQuery Core Team Lead, driving initiatives that have shaped the evolution of web development worldwide.

During my tenure at Quickcue, I navigated significant milestones, including spearheading the development of Quickcue's native iPad app without any prior iOS experience, which led to its acquisition by OpenTable in 2013. At OpenTable, I played a pivotal role in developing comprehensive products, integrating advanced features, and optimizing performance across diverse projects. My passion lies in creating solutions that are not only fast, beautiful, and engaging but also maintainable, responsive, and accessible, ensuring lasting impact. Currently, as a member of the Cross Project Council at the OpenJS Foundation, I continue to drive innovation and standards in JavaScript and web technologies.

When I'm not working, I'm either playing inline hockey or driving my Miata on a back road.
